After more than a year, the 32nd International Staff Officers' Course (ISOC) began at the premises of the International Courses Department of the Armed Forces Academy of General Milan Rastislav Stefanik (SVK AFA). Participants from Jordan, the Republic of Korea, as well as future majors from the Slovak Armed Forces were welcomed to SVK AFA by the Rector, Brigadier General Aurel Sabó, who wished them not only to acquire new knowledge, but also new friendships and, for foreign participants, a pleasant time spent in Liptov region.
In the first week, students expand their language skills in English to improve their communication and knowledge of English military terminology. In the following weeks, they will become familiar with the capabilities of the units and the doctrinal framework for their use at the tactical level. Later, they will acquire basic information and skills necessary for the military planning and decision-making process.
During lectures and exercises, course participants will prepare for joint action in all phases of preparation and planning at the tactical level and will master the planning and conduct of military operations in English in accordance with NATO standards across the full spectrum of conflicts in the multinational environment.
