The international 6-member team competition ALLROUNDER 2024 was distinguished by a number of records this year. 9 teams entered the competition, which was a new record in the number of participants. Of the 9 teams that entered, 8 were foreign, including: Hellenic Army Academy (Athens), Ludovika University of Public Service (Budapest), National Defence Academy of Latvia (Riga), Nicolae Bălcescu Land Forces Academy (Sibiu), Military Academy of University of Defence (Belgrade), Military University of Land Forces of General Tadeusz Kościuszko (Wroclaw), University of Defence (Brno), Charles University FPES (Prague) and the Armed Forces Academy of General M. R. Štefánik (Liptovský Mikuláš).

The competition started unusually with a grenade throw for accuracy, where the competitors threw at 30 m distance with a target area measuring 3 m x 6 m. This discipline was dominated by domestic competitors, who threw a total of 46 out of 60 grenades within the defined effort. Competitors had 3 training and 10 competition attempts. The second discipline was the obstacle course, which traditionally bears the title of "the most dangerous discipline". Fortunately, this year there were only two minor injuries. The discipline was won by the cadets of Charles University FPES Prague, who achieved a final time of 7:39.3 in a total of 6 team members, and the average time per cadet was 1 minute 16 seconds. This is also the upper limit for our students within the obstacle course credit, which confirms the high level of this year's competitors. The fastest cadet of the event was the domestic competitor, cadet Julius Holik, who conquered the course in 1 minute 5 seconds.

After a delicious and hearty lunch from our cooks, the competitors moved on to the swimming discipline, where they competed 50 m distance in swimming relay in uniform. The participants were also supported by the SVK AFA cadets, who created a pleasant racing atmosphere. The fastest swimming team was from University of Defence Brno with a total time of 4:16.8, which means 43 seconds per team member in clothing for 50 m distance. The last discipline of the first day was the competition in shooting from a short (15m distance) and long weapon (30m distance). The sum of the points of both weapons and the entire team was evaluated. The team from Latvia excelled in this discipline, scoring a total of 1069 points from both weapons out of 1200 possible. Their best cadet Edvards Mucenieks (National Defence Academy of Latvia) also became the winner of the individual shooting competition, scoring 192 points out of 200. He earned the victory only after a shootout with cadet Bence András Orosz from Ludovika University of Public Service from Hungary, with whom he achieved the same number of points. Many thanks go to the Simulation Centre od SVK AFA and their staff, who devoted themselves to the competitors until late in the evening. The discipline itself and the approach of the organizers were also appreciated by foreign competitors.

The second day began with a run around the village of Ilanovo, where the competitors set off on two three-kilometre circuits in a rugged profile. 54 competitors set off on the 6 km long course at 8:30 a.m., which was traditionally completed by fastest runner Jachym Kovar from Charles University FPES Prague with a record time of 20:40. The winner of the team competition was nevertheless the team from the Military University of Land Forces of General Tadeusz Kościuszko (Wroclaw) with a total time of 2h 44´27´´. Our fastest cadet was Slavomír Adam with a time of 25:44, who also placed 3rd in the overall ranking. The last discipline, which, as a rule, always shuffles with overall ranking, was rafting. The discipline took place in the premises of the Water Sports Area in Liptovsky Mikulas, where it could take place again thanks to Mr. Cibak. The competition the sum of the times from two runs was considered as final. The competitors from Charles University FPES Prague coped best with the white water, for whom this discipline secured victory with a time of 3:36.

This year's competition was accompanied by rainy autumn weather, which, however, was the only negative factor of the entire event. In addition to sporting experiences and rivalry, the cadets gained mutual contact, teachers exchanged experiences with other colleagues from foreign universities, and team leaders drew inspiration in organizing the event in question. "I congratulate the winner, who is always only one, but of course, the compliment also goes to the other teams, especially those who participated in our event for the first time and had a slightly more difficult time compared to competitors who already had experience with our competition. I believe that the competition will be included in the calendars of foreign universities and that they will honor us with their visit again next year," said the head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports, Peter Ziska, PhD. He also thanked everyone who took part at the organization of the demanding event. "I would like to specially thank the members of the Department of Physical Education and Sports, the International Department and the Vice-Rector for Science, thanks to whom we had such a large turnout, the Vice-Rector for Education for providing prizes for the competitors, the Simulation Center for helping to organize the shooting discipline, the Bursar’s team for providing transportation, food, and medical care."
